My first born~ the apple of her father eye~ Her fathers twin!! My little independent girl!
Ava is my independent, intelligent high energy, outgoing, outspoken, curious, loveable child. She is eager to do things herself, most children are but she always insist on doing things herself. She always ready to go out and do.. Always ready to go out and conquer the WORLD literally!! Outgoing, I think if someone asked me to describe her in one word I think outgoing would be the way to describe her the most. She is friends with people old, new and young.

Rough Side Of The Mountain
One of my FAVORITE things of yesterday!!! This song brings back so many, many memories from my childhood. I was raised on these ol' Gospel songs in the church I went to. Music my granmother listens to. WOW, and this one, is one of my favorites. I was so happy I stumbled upon this song yesterday while flipping thru the radio while on my way to do last min shopping. What a Blessing it was. Enoy, I know it's diffrent to some but it's a all time favorite of mine!!!

You want to know why??? Because I do!!!
Well, I really LOVE my kids!! Do you want to know why??? Because I do!! I really, really do. No, this week I especially LOVE them because they took some delish treats off my hands and out of my way of tempting me every time I come into the kitchen. Aaron and I teach a Awana - Cubbie class at our church and around Christmas time as a way of showing thanks to us, parents bake us these yummy treats for me to take home and it causes me to gain weight just by looking at them. No, no- I'm joking, really but it sure does feel like I gain weight every time I look at something with the first ingredient being sugar. Well, my way of not gaining 20 lbs in a day is just not to keep those yummy treats in my house. So my kids loved me extra this week, because they helped me ....I mean I let them eat the baked goods I received this week. I took one bite of each thing and then I let them finish the rest and I had to get rid of it fast other wise....I'll be as big as a house. I'm very grateful to feel appreciated but I also have to make wise descions and not let some of that deliciousness stay in my house for to long. Well, downside of this story is I will be continuing today to bake my own cookies to give out by Sunday to all the LOVELY teachers who have been taking care of my kids this year. A way that I show thanks to them, I will be using splenda, if that helps!!! :) Let's see if my will power is strong enough to keep me from eating them all before Sunday. I will be needing prayer.

Ava got her ears pierced!!!
So when Ava was born, my mom wanted to take her to go get her ears pierced. Aaron was not having it. He did not want Ava to have her ears pierced. The thought was FAR............ and I mean far from his mind. Mainly because I think how he was raised. His sister's where practically teenagers before they had there ears pierced and his Mom, she was married when she had her ears pierced. I understood. I was completely fine with it. I thought my daughter was beautiful with or without them. I was a baby when my mom had my ears pierced and she also let me get my ears pierced 3 more times before I turned 15 years old. Aaron's descion was when our kids were old enough to ask...maybe like 12 ...13...they can get them done. So he said. Well, ffwd 5 years later and she is asking. She has asked about it for the last month. It took about a month for Aaron to decided yes or no. Well, I decided ;) we would go on a day he was off and my mother was off also, so we could all go together. It was quite a milestone for us....It was nice and it will be nice for Ava to look back on this day. To prepare her I showed her some youtube video's of other little girls her age who had gotten their ear's pierced. I showed her the good, the bad and the....no there was no ugly of the video watching, of the whole situation because I wanted her to be mentally prepared. After I showed her the video's she still wanted to get it done. She did amazing. She froze in the moment it happened but quickly bounced out the chair and literally started dancing in the middle of the mall. LOL. It was a day to remember for sure.
We arrive!!

Ava is looking at ALL the options.
Daddy giving Ava a Pep talk. He is telling her she is not allowed to touch, play or pull on her ears because they could become infected.
She quickly agrees.
Expressions change- in the chair.

They Prep her!

New recipe- Chicken Marsala
This dish is yummm-o!!! Enjoy!! I will say that I subsituted the Marsala Wine for white cooking wine because it is easier to find in the store and that is what I had on hand. Also, I sub-ed the sherry for chicken broth. The same amt that it calls for, for the orginal ingredient.
This is what I added additionaly because I like my sauce thick, I will add either a can of cream of mushroom OR (not both) of a 1/2 cup of whipping cream and let it simmer until sauce thickens. You welcome to try it my way or follow the recipe as directed. The items I used are usually items you would have in your pantry and you can make a meal out of it if you don't have sherry or marsala wine.

Ingredients
1/4 cup all-purpose flour for coating
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded 1/4 inch thick
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1/4 cup cooking sherry
Directions
In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper and oregano. Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture.
In a large skillet, melt butter in oil over medium heat. Place chicken in the pan, and lightly brown. Turn over chicken pieces, and add mushrooms. Pour in wine and sherry. Cover skillet; simmer chicken 10 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink and juices run clear.

Time is moving F.A.S.T.
I know....I know.... I always go M.I.A. and then come back after weeks of not posting and say, " Life has been so busy". Well, it has, to be quite frank. :) Thanksgiving has passed and it was wonderful. We spent time with Aaron's side of the family. My mother is a R.N. in a emergency room and she had to work 12 hours that day so time spent with my family was pretty much out. The Holiday was very genuine and sincere. We had a blast hanging out with Aaron's side of the family. Christmas is just 2 weeks away and we will be spending time with Aaron's side and my side. It should be fun. I know it will be fun. :)
Things on my mind these days....organization; I've been researching how to be a "better" organizer of my home, family life, activities, marriage, parenting..etc.
It really will help the flow of my life go better. I know it is easy to alot of people but when you don't have a set of skills instilled in you from the beginning you are pretty much wandering in the dark just trying to figure out how to use a set of tools to help you manage your life a little bit better. A work in progress I am.........
