Rough Side Of The Mountain
One of my FAVORITE things of yesterday!!! This song brings back so many, many memories from my childhood. I was raised on these ol' Gospel songs in the church I went to. Music my granmother listens to. WOW, and this one, is one of my favorites. I was so happy I stumbled upon this song yesterday while flipping thru the radio while on my way to do last min shopping. What a Blessing it was. Enoy, I know it's diffrent to some but it's a all time favorite of mine!!!

You want to know why??? Because I do!!!
Well, I really LOVE my kids!! Do you want to know why??? Because I do!! I really, really do. No, this week I especially LOVE them because they took some delish treats off my hands and out of my way of tempting me every time I come into the kitchen. Aaron and I teach a Awana - Cubbie class at our church and around Christmas time as a way of showing thanks to us, parents bake us these yummy treats for me to take home and it causes me to gain weight just by looking at them. No, no- I'm joking, really but it sure does feel like I gain weight every time I look at something with the first ingredient being sugar. Well, my way of not gaining 20 lbs in a day is just not to keep those yummy treats in my house. So my kids loved me extra this week, because they helped me ....I mean I let them eat the baked goods I received this week. I took one bite of each thing and then I let them finish the rest and I had to get rid of it fast other wise....I'll be as big as a house. I'm very grateful to feel appreciated but I also have to make wise descions and not let some of that deliciousness stay in my house for to long. Well, downside of this story is I will be continuing today to bake my own cookies to give out by Sunday to all the LOVELY teachers who have been taking care of my kids this year. A way that I show thanks to them, I will be using splenda, if that helps!!! :) Let's see if my will power is strong enough to keep me from eating them all before Sunday. I will be needing prayer.

Ava got her ears pierced!!!
So when Ava was born, my mom wanted to take her to go get her ears pierced. Aaron was not having it. He did not want Ava to have her ears pierced. The thought was FAR............ and I mean far from his mind. Mainly because I think how he was raised. His sister's where practically teenagers before they had there ears pierced and his Mom, she was married when she had her ears pierced. I understood. I was completely fine with it. I thought my daughter was beautiful with or without them. I was a baby when my mom had my ears pierced and she also let me get my ears pierced 3 more times before I turned 15 years old. Aaron's descion was when our kids were old enough to ask...maybe like 12 ...13...they can get them done. So he said. Well, ffwd 5 years later and she is asking. She has asked about it for the last month. It took about a month for Aaron to decided yes or no. Well, I decided ;) we would go on a day he was off and my mother was off also, so we could all go together. It was quite a milestone for us....It was nice and it will be nice for Ava to look back on this day. To prepare her I showed her some youtube video's of other little girls her age who had gotten their ear's pierced. I showed her the good, the bad and the....no there was no ugly of the video watching, of the whole situation because I wanted her to be mentally prepared. After I showed her the video's she still wanted to get it done. She did amazing. She froze in the moment it happened but quickly bounced out the chair and literally started dancing in the middle of the mall. LOL. It was a day to remember for sure.
We arrive!!

Ava is looking at ALL the options.
Daddy giving Ava a Pep talk. He is telling her she is not allowed to touch, play or pull on her ears because they could become infected.
She quickly agrees.
Expressions change- in the chair.

They Prep her!

New recipe- Chicken Marsala
This dish is yummm-o!!! Enjoy!! I will say that I subsituted the Marsala Wine for white cooking wine because it is easier to find in the store and that is what I had on hand. Also, I sub-ed the sherry for chicken broth. The same amt that it calls for, for the orginal ingredient.
This is what I added additionaly because I like my sauce thick, I will add either a can of cream of mushroom OR (not both) of a 1/2 cup of whipping cream and let it simmer until sauce thickens. You welcome to try it my way or follow the recipe as directed. The items I used are usually items you would have in your pantry and you can make a meal out of it if you don't have sherry or marsala wine.

Here is the link copy and paste. ^^
Ingredients
1/4 cup all-purpose flour for coating
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded 1/4 inch thick
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1/4 cup cooking sherry
Directions
In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper and oregano. Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture.
In a large skillet, melt butter in oil over medium heat. Place chicken in the pan, and lightly brown. Turn over chicken pieces, and add mushrooms. Pour in wine and sherry. Cover skillet; simmer chicken 10 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink and juices run clear.

Time is moving F.A.S.T.
I know....I know.... I always go M.I.A. and then come back after weeks of not posting and say, " Life has been so busy". Well, it has, to be quite frank. :) Thanksgiving has passed and it was wonderful. We spent time with Aaron's side of the family. My mother is a R.N. in a emergency room and she had to work 12 hours that day so time spent with my family was pretty much out. The Holiday was very genuine and sincere. We had a blast hanging out with Aaron's side of the family. Christmas is just 2 weeks away and we will be spending time with Aaron's side and my side. It should be fun. I know it will be fun. :)
Things on my mind these days....organization; I've been researching how to be a "better" organizer of my home, family life, activities, marriage, parenting..etc.
It really will help the flow of my life go better. I know it is easy to alot of people but when you don't have a set of skills instilled in you from the beginning you are pretty much wandering in the dark just trying to figure out how to use a set of tools to help you manage your life a little bit better. A work in progress I am.........

Milestones
I'm so pleased that before Eden's 3 month old birthday she was able to roll from stomach to back, look from side to side, follow voices and people in the room. Lift's head with control, sit's up with some supervised help. She also is trying too sit up by herself....trying to pull herself up. She is sleeping 6-8 hours at night, in her own bed, in her own room...... I might add. :) She is just a sweet mild mannered baby. I'm so pleased with her development..I seriously think she will be walking before she is12 month's old.
Mommy and Daddy's favorite things to do
So Aaron asked Ava what was his favorite thing to do? She said " sleeping and working". Aaron is not a workaholic but I think they just miss him. Aaron also asked her,What was mommy's favorite thing to do? She said, spanking us and cooking...and I honestly don't spank as much as I should. No I'm not a child abuser either...but I do discipline my children and spanking is last resort for me. Anyway, I thought the things she thought was our favorite things were quite funny.

Life~
I've been lacking seriously on my blog. I've just been sooo extremeley busy being a Mother,Wife, and Daughter of God the best that I can be right now. Just staying busy, I find moments where I have the chance to blog but I'm usually pulled away suddenly by the sweet sounds of children: Asking to be tucked in for the 3rd time. Or, the moment where I lay my precious baby girl down and soon as I tip..toe..out of the room she alerts me to come and continue to comfort her. I'M LOVING every Minute.
I feel extremeley BLESSED to be in this season of my life. I know NOW it does not last FOREVER and this time is to be Treasured immensley.
Well, I'm sure since I last wrote, I've been the birthday party planner. Everyones birthday in my household has passed, so I have not had time to think about my upcoming celebration. Which is in fact in 2 days. I actually mentioned to my husband last night that I felt in that moment that since I've been so wrapped up in planning his birthday, Gabrielle birthday and just recently Ava's birthday, that my birthday just seemed like another day. Suddenly in the moment I said " I shouldn't feel that way." I should feel excited..it's a time to celebrate MY LIFE. My life that THE LORD has blessed me with. So with that in my mind, my husband and I are planning to go out to dinner and I like/haven't been to the gun range so we have that planned for my birthday. YEY!! So I'm excited to have another year to celebrate. A time of reflection for me really..on how much the LORD has blessed our lives and time to reflect on my life.

First time for everything
So Aaron and I have been married for 7 years and tonight is the first night that I've ever made Chicken Marsala. Good thing I decided to cook it this 7th year of marriage and not the 1 st it would have been a disaster.
Heehee! :)
Here is the recipe:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour for coating
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded 1/4 inch thick
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1/4 cup cooking sherry
Directions
In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper and oregano. Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture.
In a large skillet, melt butter in oil over medium heat. Place chicken in the pan, and lightly brown. Turn over chicken pieces, and add mushrooms. Pour in wine and sherry. Cover skillet; simmer chicken 10 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink and juices run clear.

I smell something tasty....
is precisely what Ava said when she came down stairs this afternoon. We are making banana bread with Chocolate chips in it. Yummm...I will post a recipe in a bit....
Here it is.
1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of salt
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup of mashed bananas
3/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of cooking oil~ I use veg. oil
In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
In a large mixing bowl stir together egg whites, banana, sugar and oil.
Stir flour mixture into banana mixture just until moistened. I also add about a 1/2 cup of applesauce just so the bread will be a bit moist. I think this is what makes this recipe actually. I normally also put either raisins, choc. chips or walnuts. YUMMM.
Spray a 8x4x2 inch loaf pan with non stick spray
Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 in oven for 45 mins~ or until middle is firm and bread is golden.
Cool bread for 10 mins or like my girls like, they like to eat it straight out the oven.
Bon Apetite~

Well this post will be trying to catch up on my life as of today. Almost a year ago I found out we were expecting our 3rd child. It was actually a week exactly from Thanksgiving. What a way to to celebrate Thanksgiving. Being Thankful for the gift of life the Lord Blessed us with.
I was actually looking back on my older post of the trouble I "felt" I was having trying to get pregnant. I would like to partially recant how I was feeling. Partially meaning because with the first two girls we had little difficulty getting pregnant and I expected the same to happen the third time around when in reality we had little difficulty the third time around also. So I totally understand how much more difficult it is for other women to conceive.

Chuck E. Chesse
So, Aaron and Gabrielle birthdays are 7 days apart and so there birthday celebrations were celebrated together, so to speak. We have been so busy these first 2 weeks in September that we could not just do cake, ice cream and make sure every one we wanted to celebrate with was joined together all at the same time. So with this in mind, we tend to break up the activities. Aaron's first available day off to take Gabrielle to Chuck E. Chesse just so happened to be on his actual birthday and so Aaron and Gabrielle both got to spend /celebrate thier birthdays at Chuck E. Chesse. We had a blast..Everyone would ask Aaron what he did and he would tell them he went to Chuck E. Chesse for his birthday. No, we did end up doing something with friends for his birthday later on in the month. A month of memories!!!
Some of my favorite things.....
I Love my 3 little girls.
I LOVE MY MAN!!! :-)
I Love Big Earings.
I Love High heels.
I love to go out but I also LOVE to be at home. I'm a homebody. Although my husband refers to me as a hermit from time to time. As a joke~ so he claims.
I LOVE that I can talk to my mom about almost anything. I LOVE that realtionship we have.
I LOVE that there is no place I rather be but in the arms of JESUS, I don't know how I could emotionally conquer this world without him.
I LOVE Simplicity
I LOVE my LIFE!!
