Here are some of there response. Some of the responses is the very reason why I pulled Ava out and also why we do home-school.
- heard God calling me to.
- ...want to bond with my children and allow them to bond with each other; I want to educate them in more than just the 3Rs, but also in the Lord and in life and in love.
-
-
-
- love learning with my kids and learning about my kids
-
- want to teach my children how to THINK.
-
- I can do it better than the government
-
- believe education comes out of relationship!
-
- Hate waking up early. ;)
-
- love my children.
- have seen the village and do not want it to be the one raising my children ;)
- know that I can give my children what the need to remain excited, self-motivated, creative, imaginative learners and thinkers.
- And I hate waking up early, too! :) am walking in obedience to the Lord, and wouldn't have it any other way :)
-
- Enjoy spending time with my children and would miss them if they were gone all day.
-
-
- am my daughter's first and BEST teacher! No one knows her and how she learns like her father and I do! No one has more invested in seeing her succeed. ♥
- want to do God's will and believe family is His most precious earthly gift to us, training them to love & walk with him is my greatest honor & privileged!
- It's the BEST fit for our family! We love it, we love being able to choose the influences in our children's lives ... we love being able to teach the about Jesus during the day in their lessons ... and yes, I would miss them, too!!!
- want to be around my kids and want my kids not to separate life from learning.
- The system is a joke, it is dangerous, and we can do a better job. It's about accepting responsibility for the children we brought into the world. It's no one else's job but our own to mold them into responsible adults.
- Love my kids (yep, I see now it's a repeat but it was my 1st thought)
-
- all of the above! I love my kids, I love being WITH them, I love seeing them learn and discover new things, I love teaching them about God and that the world centers around HIM and not them, me or America; I love relearning what I forgot or learning what I never learned in public schools.
- love my children and because I am being obedient to God's call on my life
- care about what they learn and when they learn it.
-
- Want my kids to know the truth. And I love spending time with them. :-)
-
- know it's best for my kids. (If you asked my mom, she'd say I do it because I love the books! Some truth there, too. :) )
-
-
-
- love having fun with my kids!
-
- I want my children to BE children and I want to enjoy every minute with them!
-
- God entrusted and bless me with my lovely dc and Im responsible to bring them up in the way of the Lord and it's our responsibilities as parents to equip, nurture, teach, rebuke, correct and train our own dc by homeschooling.
-
- felt God calling me to it.
-
- see it as an extension of parenting:-).
-
- the alternatives seem crazy and i love am frustrated w/ the school system in our community.
-
- Because I believe that "home's cool"!!!!
-
- am a grown up. And I will not be dictated to by school staff.
-
- am called by the LORD to serve my family in this way!
-
- my mother-in-law works in a public school and often brings home reminders of why I homeschool.
-
- am insane! Sorry, the first thing that popped into my head ;-D
am obeying the Lord who gave us this child to raise and gave us the guidelines in the Bible to do so and b/c i love my child and b/c we parent by attachment parenting and this is a form of that. some Biblical reasons to homeschool: God’s commandments to us regarding our stewardship of the children He has given us include: Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Deuteronomy 6:6-9 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Again, a child’s mind is trained in school. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. http://www.brandonstaggs.com/biblical-reasons-to-homeschool/ this is a great link with several scripture references.
God instructed parents to instruct their children. Academic subjects are only a small part of what I am to teach, so keeping my child home with me allows me the amazing opportunity to disciple her, doing what God has called me to do, while making sure she gets excellence in academics too.
I don't want to miss any time with my kids while I have the opportunity to be with them...a great education is just icing on the cake! :)
...don't want my children to suffer the indignities forced upon me during my public school experience. I want them to learn and grow in an environment of love and encouragement.
